RMD Structural Specialists

— A Structural Service

For Retaining Walls, Slopes and Embankments

Ground anchors are a highly effective solution for stabilising retaining walls, slopes and embankments, preventing movement, slippage or collapse due to soil pressure and environmental factors.

These anchors provide deep-seated reinforcement, ensuring long-term structural integrity and safety. Our service includes expert assessment, installation and finishing, to deliver a robust and lasting solution for commercial, residential and infrastructure projects.

Ground Anchors

Our Ground Anchor Service

Whether you need stabilisation for a failing wall or preventative reinforcement for a new structure or temporary works, our expert team provides a complete service from design to final installation.

Site Surveys and Assessments

We analyse soil conditions, structural integrity and the extent of movement or failure.

Anchor Design and Specification

Tailored solutions based on site-specific load requirements and geotechnical conditions.

Drilling and Installation

High-strength anchors are installed at strategic points to maximise stability.

Load Testing and Verification

Anchors are tested to ensure they provide the necessary strength and security.

Stabilisation and Finishing

The installation is completed with proper backfilling and surface restoration.

— From Survey to Completion

Our Ground Anchor Installation Process

1. Site Assessment and Planning

A structural and geotechnical survey is conducted to determine anchor placement and load capacity. Engineers design a custom anchoring system suited to the site conditions and retaining wall or slope stability needs.

2. Drilling and Anchor Installation

Holes are drilled at calculated angles and depths into the retaining wall, slope or embankment. High-tensile steel anchors or bars are inserted into the drilled holes.

3. Tensioning and Load Testing

The anchors are tensioned to apply the necessary restraining force. Load tests are performed to verify that each anchor meets structural stability requirements.

4. Final Adjustments and Restoration

The system is adjusted as needed to ensure optimal stability. The area is restored to match the existing surroundings, ensuring minimal visual impact.
